Discouragement

After numerous applications, many interviews, and three flights, Garret is still spending his days laboring away at Starbucks. We thought the job in the South Bay was a done deal, but after one last frustrating trip out we returned home without a job. Garret and I are feeling discouraged and confused. For some reasons things have hit me harder than my optimistic husband. We are not quite sure where this leaves us or what will be the next steps in our lives.

I have sent in applications for internships in Boulder and we are planning a trip to the northwest and a camping trip to help us clear our heads and seek guidance for our lives.

Garret has a job interview in long beach this weekend.  Moving back to southern california?  We’ll see…anything can happen.

The most spoken words in congress.  Interesting…caro and garret check out the calendar view; the link is below.

rodmitch:

stumblng ← boing boing ← Capitol Words

[A]n at-a-glance view into the daily proceedings of the United States Congress through the simplest lens available-a single word. For every day that Congress is in session, Capitol Words displays the most frequently used word in the Congressional Record.

This is a great idea. I especially like the calendar view.

I wanted to read The Diving Bell and the Butterfly but it was checked out from the library.  So, while I waited, I scanned my bookshelf for something to entertain me until it’s arrival.  It was between Wuthering Heights and The Indian in the Cupboard.  I read Wuthering Heights in high school and was repelled by the language and content (aaron, I think we read the book together).  I decided to give it another shot.  I have therefore embarked on another great journey.
Anyone have any other book recommendations?
